LEADERSHIP
Brian Evans | Pastor

Pastor Brian Evans was born in South Carolina and grew up in Georgia, Arkansas, Missouri and California. Brian was raised in a very devout Roman Catholic family. His great-uncle was a Priest, and there was a feeling that perhaps Brian would be one to follow in his example.
After a faith-encounter with Christ in high school, Brian made the decision to start attending Calvary Baptist Church (Columbia, Missouri) to help him to learn more about his new personal faith in Christ. Years later, Brian would serve as the Senior Pastor of this very same church before coming to Chicago to be a Church Planter with the Great Commission Baptist denomination.
Upon graduating from high school, Brian went to William Jewell College (Liberty, Missouri) and studied Business Administration. During college, Brian married Beth, his high school sweetheart, and together they have served in numerous Christian ministries and churches. During college Brian served as Assistant to the Chaplain, President of Student Christian Ministries and participated in Student-led Revival teams that served area churches.
Over a period of 20 years, Brian was a pastor at several churches located in northwest and central Missouri (Kansas City, Union Star, Pilot Grove, and Columbia) and his ministry experiences include working with youth as well as adults with mission trips to Sudan, Brazil, Mexico, Colorado, and Illinois. During this time, Brian earned his MA in Biblical Languages and a Doctorate in Ministry from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Brian also works full-time as an Assistant Manager for a School Bus company on the north side of Chicago. His day usually starts at 4:30 a.m., and often takes about 50 hours per week. He is a bi-vocational pastor--making a living in the "real world" while trying to help lead the church at the same time (lots of prayer needed!).
