Election Transition Statement
"Church in the Loop strongly condemns the illegal and violent actions which took place in the Capitol on January 6th, 2021. While law-abiding citizens have the right to peacefully protest, there is no moral or spiritual imperative that validates or excuses the actions of January 6th which left five people dead and many more injured.
We believe the message of Christ is one of love for our neighbor, which always seeks to preserve the dignity and God-given value of every person, regardless of race, color, creed, or sexual orientation. When asked to identify the greatest commandment, Jesus said, "Love the Lord your God will all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments" (Matthew 22:36-40, NIV).
Therefore, Church in the Loop supports the peaceful transition of the Presidency to our new President, Joe Biden. We offer our full support and prayers for godly wisdom, genuine humility, and the healing of our nation to once again be a beacon of hope and love for a world in need. We challenge all Americans to unite as one nation, under God, for the betterment of all humankind."
